I read this book years ago and thought of reading it again to see if it has grown well on me thought at the time of reading it I was left wanting。 But it isn't better to me now than it was then。 I always thought there should be more to Satanic Witchcraft than the art of seduction。 Anton Levey's other book The Satanic Bible held more substance but still left me wanting too。 I think after looking at it again and after some years I am clearer on why Anton Lavey's version of Satanism felt dry。 It is I read this book years ago and thought of reading it again to see if it has grown well on me thought at the time of reading it I was left wanting。 But it isn't better to me now than it was then。 I always thought there should be more to Satanic Witchcraft than the art of seduction。 Anton Levey's other book The Satanic Bible held more substance but still left me wanting too。 I think after looking at it again and after some years I am clearer on why Anton Lavey's version of Satanism felt dry。 It is lacking in magic for me though he includes "magic" in the tradition。 It is full of egoism which to me is not a strength but a weakness in our western cultures or anywhere in the world。 If you consider yourself to be a specific kind of Feminist you might hate this book。 If you are what is called Post Modern you might like it。 If you are a different kind of feminist where you see different sides and points of view to things you might find yourself alternately liking and then not liking this book like I did。 If you consider yourself to be Wiccan you may very much dislike this book or Anton Lavey's ideas because Wiccans generally are not for throwing curses and most Wiccans are not for manipulative magic to win over the lust or love of another。 Other Witches who do not consider themselves to be Wiccan may like or not like this book because Witches outside of Wicca can have as many viewpoints， beliefs， and practices as there are witches。 All in all the giving of a "potion" to an unsuspecting "male visitor" could very much turn real bad！ Aside from that it is working to have influence without a persons knowing or allowance but something in such a potion could be very bad for this persons health either by affecting their health condition itself or interacting with a medication or herb they already take。 The kind of talk throughout this book does not discuss responsibility for thoroughly understanding herbs or another persons health。 Why？ Because it isn't as fun as just handing the man you lust after a potion to drink at possibly his own peril！ But this is where Wicca has it's strength to consider everything the Wiccan is doing first before acting。 All in all I believe there is much more to Satanism than Anton Lavey and that there must be other traditions out there that people have developed that is more intelligent and not so egoistic。 I think the best thing about the idea of Anton Lavey's Satanism is to be unapologetically yourself which is why I give it one star。 But too often people are either this or that and they do not apologize when an apology is called for。 And being oneself should not mean being a shithead or someone who acts with no fore sigh giving some poor unsuspecting dude who knows what。 There is a difference between apologizing and taking responsibility when a person has called you on it from allowing yourself to be human and even the animal that humans are。 We are human and should have the intelligence to understand that falling into egoism and manipulation is not a wise road。 And as animals we should be able to be that as well without causing damage without thought。 It does not create community or strong partnerships but instead creates "us and them" which may oddly be exactly what Anton Lavey's Satanism was supposedly rebelling against。 Or perhaps the entire system is basically a hate for Christianity which does not a spiritual tradition or lifestyle make。 There is a section that talks about "body types" which is quite objectifying and nothing magical there and is very western in it's obsession with classifying body types with personality。 That is just wrong。 Very gendered and as someone else said in the comments "heteronormative"。 While I don't mind people looking traditionally masculine or traditionally feminine I don't want people outside of those choices to feel prejudice upon them by writings such as The Satanic Witch。 It could have been written in such a way to not be all hatey on people who aren't the traditional masculine or feminine。 Merely that if you want to seduce this specific type of male this is how you do it。 But there are people outside of this western male/female continuum that have sexualities and identities。 And no matter how anyone looks our "power" to seduce doesn't have to be the same as Anton's ideal for feminine seduction of men。 I think if he had a particular fetish for being controlled and seduced by a woman then perhaps he should have admitted himself to not be purely Dominant and allowed himself to actually submit to a Pro Domme instead of writing a book and touting it as an actual Spiritual Lifestyle to do things like that without thought for repercussions or consensuality as a Domme would have。 As I have been looking for years I will keep looking for what resonates or perhaps I should simply follow my instincts。 。。。more

Mental manipulation using my witchy witch abilities and yummy sex appeal sounds like a good time。The proof is in the pages and what I found was that this book was not for me。 I didn’t agree with what I read and it wasn’t interesting enough for me to finish。The rad thing about me giving this read a go was that it reaffirmed that I’m a siren who needs to up my game and really Goth It Up ;） Devil Horns in the air！
